Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chael Brownie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gedo Sake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chael Brownie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chael Brownie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gedo Sake!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brownie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sake sprawls well. Sake wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brownie gets slowly back to his feet.
Sake looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Sake fails to land with a series of punches.
Brownie shoots in and drives through. Sake sprawls well.
Brownie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sake but Sake pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chael Brownie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Brownie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sake fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Brownie.

Brownie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Brownie lands a nice short elbow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brownie is looking for a kimura but Sake is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Brownie to get the leverage.

Brownie winds up and cracks Sake with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Sake is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brownie connects with a nice short shot to Sake's temple.
Brownie lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Brownie is trying to work for a kimura but Sake is defending well.

Sake throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Brownie working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Sake is trying to get back to full guard.

Brownie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sake pushes Brownie off looking to stand but Brownie dives back in and keeps control.

Brownie is trying to work for a kimura but Sake is defending well.

Sake is looking to control Brownie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sake avoid being mounted?

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Brownie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Brownie is looking for a kimura but Sake is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Brownie to get the leverage.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sake gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Brownie decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sake's guard.

Brownie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Brownie content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Brownie lands a couple of elbows.

Brownie drops back looking for a leg! Sake is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sake manages to kick Brownie off! Brownie jumps back into Sake's guard.
Brownie is looking to work some ground and pound but Sake has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brownie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sake trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Brownie is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sake fails with an attempt to clinch.

and Brownie counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Brownie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brownie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Brownie has gone for a leg lock! Sake slips out almost immediately though and dives into Brownie's guard.

Brownie has his foot on Sake's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sake works his way back into a safe position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brownie keeping moving, preventing Sake from controlling successfully.

Brownie is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Sake frees his head nicely. Oh but Brownie has switched to an armbar! Sake is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
