PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Nugget (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and WAH WIE (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that WAH WIE was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ted Nugget!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, WAH WIE!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nugget takes a swing at WIE's ribcage but misses.
WIE tries to clinch but Nugget is having none of it.

WIE shoots in and bounces Nugget off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
WIE trying to control the position from guard on top but Nugget is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nugget is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst WIE is controlling him.

Nugget pushes WIE off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Nugget is breathing heavily.
WIE tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nugget swivels and escapes.

WIE forces Nugget back against the cage and clinches.

Nugget breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nugget throws a combination but it was largely blocked by WIE.
WIE swings away with a body shot that misses
and Nugget counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Nugget avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nugget misses with a series of wild punches.

WIE has managed to clinch.

Nugget breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nugget throws a series of punches but WIE moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
WIE moves out of range as Nugget strikes.
WIE shoots for a double leg takedown but Nugget sprawls well. He's pushed WIE's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Nugget misses with a series of wild punches.
WIE blocks a jab.
WIE staying out of range there.
WIE changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nugget tries to avoid it but WIE manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nugget to the ground. Nugget escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ted Nugget has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of WAH WIE.

WIE tries to clinch there but Nugget circles away.
Nugget works over WIE's head and body with a nice combination.
WIE closes the distance but Nugget moves to the side
and Nugget counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops WIE! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Nugget!
