Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sid Fraser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos da Silva!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
da Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.

da Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
da Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
da Silva's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Fraser on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fraser tries to get out of the position.
da Silva tries to control but Fraser wriggling away.

da Silva looking to secure an arm triangle but Fraser defends it well.
da Silva misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
da Silva controlling the pace for now.
Fraser is squirming around, avoiding da Silva's attempts to control the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fraser tries to hold on but da Silva pushes him away.
da Silva controlling his opponent.
Fraser working to try and regain half guard.
da Silva controlling from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
da Silva thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
da Silva looking to control and managing it successfully.
Fraser is squirming around, avoiding da Silva's attempts to control the action.

Despite being in the dominant position, Carlos da Silva just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Fraser takes the fight into the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Fraser.
da Silva is trying to break free.
da Silva tries to pull guard but Fraser holds him up against the cage and eventually da Silva drops back down to his feet.
Fraser comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fraser lands a damaging elbow.
A short right from Fraser on the inside.
da Silva looks gassed!
Fraser has da Silva pressed against the cage. He pushes da Silva back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Fraser throws a beautiful elbow that sends da Silva crashing to the floor! Fraser piles on the pressure with more strikes! da Silva is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sid Fraser!
