Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sweeney Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brutas Beefcake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Todd kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Never Forget, Never Forgive... Beefcake has chosen The BeefCake as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sweeney Todd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brutas Beefcake!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beefcake shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Todd as he avoids it easily.
Todd throws a body punch but Beefcake moves out of range.
Todd loads up on a big right hand but Beefcake slips the punch.
Beefcake shoots in and drives through. Todd sprawls well.
Todd misses with an attempted mid kick.
Todd has his takedown stuffed
and Beefcake counters with a shoot takedown. Todd fights it but they end up in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Beefcake throwing strikes but missing.
Beefcake looking to pass the guard.
Todd is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Beefcake trying to control the position from guard on top but Todd is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Todd pushes Beefcake off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Todd swats away the attempt to clinch by Beefcake.

and Todd counters with a stiff right hand.
Sweeney Todd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brutas Beefcake.
No luck for Beefcake with that takedown attempt.

and Todd counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Todd will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Beefcake had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Todd defends it easily.

We're going to have a standup here because Sweeney Todd wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Todd tries to work over Beefcake's front leg with a kick but Beefcake checks it.
Todd ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Beefcake gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Todd to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Beefcake takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Beefcake shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Todd pinned against the cage. Todd gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Beefcake is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Todd scores with a couple of nice shots.

Todd moves into full mount! Beefcake won't be happy about that!

Todd has hold of Beefcake's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Beefcake manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Todd has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Beefcake's face.
Beefcake wants to control but Todd is having none of it.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Todd closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Beefcake quickly recovers to half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Todd connects with a nice short shot to Beefcake's temple.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sweeney Todd has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Beefcake shoots for a takedown but Todd saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Horrible takedown by Beefcake or perhaps it was just good defense by Todd which made him look bad.
Todd is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Beefcake can do to turn this around?

Beefcake makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Beefcake.

Todd's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Sweeney Todd just wasn't active enough.
Todd lands with a hook. Beefcake tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Todd changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Beefcake looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Beefcake tries to buck Todd off but Todd is having none of it.
Beefcake is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Well Todd has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
