Tauno is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Pelican - Dead Between The Walls. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tauno throws out a loose jab but Couture uses good head movement to avoid it.
Tauno avoids the body shot from Couture.
Couture keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tauno will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tauno scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Couture manages to get back to half guard.
Couture is not content to let Tauno control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Couture is looking to control Tauno's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Couture avoid being mounted?
Tauno is looking to advance position but Couture won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No joy there for Couture, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Tauno throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Couture was covering up waiting for the punch and Tauno finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Couture is trying to control the position but Tauno postures up.
Tauno is fighting to break Couture's control of his arms but Couture is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Couture is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Tauno working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Couture is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tauno wants to control but Couture is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Tauno might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Couture kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Couture takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Tauno is trying to control but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tauno is looking for a sweep. Couture is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tauno fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Couture sprawls well initially but Tauno persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Couture tries to get to full guard but Tauno has control of the leg.
Tauno is keen to just control but Couture is a slippery customer.
Couture is looking to improve his position.
Tauno not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Couture is in trouble now - Tauno has advanced to mount!
Tauno prevents Couture from getting the reversal.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tauno can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Couture is looking to escape.
Tauno lands a big shot there that rocks Couture but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Couture is looking to get to half guard.
Tauno has control of Couture's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Couture regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The referee warns Couture that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Couture is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
