Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Muikku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maddox Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Muikku comes into the arena with Lux Aeterna blaring out of the sound system. Jonas Muikku has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ward drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Muikku is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ward stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Muikku swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Muikku is trying to control the position but Ward postures up.

Muikku working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ward doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ward manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ward throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ward throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Muikku's waist but Muikku gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ward off to one side.

and Ward counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Muikku!
