Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Liha Piirakka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Rodey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodey is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Frisky. Liha Piirakka has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Piirakka tries to keep at a distance but Rodey has taken the fight into the clinch.

Rodey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Piirakka swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Piirakka drops back looking for a leg! Rodey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rodey manages to kick Piirakka off! Piirakka jumps back into Rodey's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Piirakka swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rodey.
Rodey has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Piirakka really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Piirakka's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Piirakka duly obliges.
Piirakka fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rodey has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Piirakka finds it's way round the side to connect with Rodey's head.

Rodey drops his hands momentarily and Piirakka takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Piirakka lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Piirakka thuds his right hand into Rodey's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Piirakka pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Rodey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Rodey decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Piirakka's guard.

Rodey avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rodey passes Piirakka's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodey shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Piirakka's guard.

Rodey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Piirakka has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rodey has managed to get both his arms back between Piirakka's legs - danger averted.
