Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, GEORGES STPIERRE!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zack Williams!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
STPIERRE throws a head kick that misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from STPIERRE. Williams does a little dance to reset his feet.
Williams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has STPIERRE pinned against the cage. STPIERRE gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
STPIERRE scores with a leg kick.
Williams tries to clinch up but STPIERRE circles away and keeps his distance.

Williams gets a clinch.
STPIERRE stops a takedown attempt from Williams.

STPIERRE escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No joy there for STPIERRE, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Williams looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
STPIERRE pushes Williams off looking to stand but Williams dives back in and keeps control.
STPIERRE tries to get to full guard but Williams has control of the leg.

STPIERRE is refusing to be controlled, as Williams sits in half guard.
STPIERRE flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

STPIERRE wants to get back to full guard but Williams has mounted him!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
STPIERRE in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Williams fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
STPIERRE tries to hold on but Williams postures up.

STPIERRE is trying to reverse the position but instead Williams has taken his back - oops!
Williams is trying to stick to STPIERRE's back but STPIERRE is turning into Williams. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Williams's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by STPIERRE.

STPIERRE is breathing heavily.

Williams has control of STPIERRE's left arm, preventing STPIERRE from doing any damage.

STPIERRE stands up from Williams's guard - STPIERRE perhaps looking for a knockout.

STPIERRE closes the distance and clinches.
STPIERRE wants a takedown.
STPIERRE has had enough of the clinch but Williams keeps him there for the moment.

A frustrated look appears on Williams's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Williams can't break the clinch.

STPIERRE pulls guard effortlessly.
Williams connects with a couple of short punches.
STPIERRE avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Williams cracks STPIERRE with a solid left hand.
Williams loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Williams controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Williams won't allow STPIERRE to sweep him here.
Williams wants to control from the top but STPIERRE keeps moving.

Williams tries to move into range but STPIERRE moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

and Williams counters with a nice double leg into side control. STPIERRE won't be happy with that.

Williams is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. STPIERRE knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Williams tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
STPIERRE manages to work his way to half guard, despite Williams's best efforts.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
STPIERRE is trying to stand back up but Williams is controlling him

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Williams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Williams goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, STPIERRE has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Williams but great work by STPIERRE.

STPIERRE wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working.

Zack Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

STPIERRE goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

STPIERRE is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Williams is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams wants to get up but he can't break STPIERRE's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Williams looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Williams wants to control from the top but STPIERRE keeps moving.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Williams throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
STPIERRE has his takedown stuffed

and Williams holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Williams has had enough of the clinch but STPIERRE keeps him there for the moment.

STPIERRE breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Williams shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

STPIERRE closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

STPIERRE manages to break the clinch.
Williams takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Williams avoids the head kick by STPIERRE.

Williams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has STPIERRE pinned against the cage. STPIERRE gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Williams wants to take a breather but STPIERRE is having none of it.
STPIERRE has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Williams is working away from the top position though.
