Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sam Hitz!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Hitz. No joy for Hamed on that attempt.

Naseem Hamed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hamed shoots in but no luck this time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hamed swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hamed fails with the takedown.
Hitz throws a body punch but Hamed moves out of range.
Hitz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hamed will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hitz has Hamed up against the cage in a clinch.
Hamed wants a takedown but no success here.
Hitz lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Hitz misses with an elbow strike.

Hitz cracks Hamed with a nice body shot.

Hitz lands an elbow that stopped Hamed in his tracks for a moment.
Hamed wants a takedown but no success here.

Hitz misses with some punches.
Oh Hamed is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hitz will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hamed up against the cage.
A nice left hand lands by Hitz.

Hitz lands an elbow that stopped Hamed in his tracks for a moment.
Hamed takes an elbow to the temple.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hamed.
Hitz prevents the takedown attempt.

Hamed blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hamed seems to have got his legs back now.
Hitz misses with a knee strike.
Hitz throws a punch but it's blocked by Hamed.
Hamed is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Hitz presses Hamed against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Hitz swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Hitz gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Still in the clinch, Hitz scores with a nice short uppercut.
Hamed lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Hamed throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Hitz lands with a light punch inside.
With the fighters up against the cage, Hitz throws an elbow but misses.
Hamed wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hitz has him pressed against the cage.
Hamed takes an elbow to the temple.
Hitz swings away with an uppercut that misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hitz misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Hamed.
Hitz lands an elbow inside that Hamed shrugs off.
Hamed managing to block the knees to the body from Hitz.
Hamed letting Hitz take a breather here.
Hamed can't break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Hitz dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hamed looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hitz is fending him off so far but Hamed persists. Nope, Hitz circles away and we're back to standing.

Hamed tries to reverse the position but Hitz maintains control.

Hitz lands with some strikes.
Hitz lands a big elbow - Hamed is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Hamed is forced to tap out!
