The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Novikov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Volchenkov.
Volchenkov displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Novikov throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A head kick misses from Novikov.
Volchenkov throws a right and a left that Novikov avoids nicely.
Novikov misses with a straight right.
Novikov lands a big head kick that sends Volchenkov tumbling to the mat! Novikov takes a step backwards and waves Volchenkov back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Vladmir Volchenkov has been cut.
Volchenkov is breathing heavily.
A head kick by Novikov - that's a beauty! Volchenkov is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Novikov can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
