Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yacoub Qura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trever Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Qura comes to the cage accompanied by The Finest - MF Doom. Trever Bernard is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yacoub Qura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trever Bernard!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Qura misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bernard.
Qura connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Yacoub Qura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bernard circles away from the clinch attempt.
Qura shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bernard but Bernard pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Qura tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bernard swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bernard looks for a takedown but Qura sprawls well.
Qura fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

so Bernard counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Bernard controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bernard slips nicely into half guard.
Bernard not doing much here.

Let's hope that Bernard has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
I looks like Bernard might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Bernard is looking to advance position but Qura won't allow it.
Bernard is taking a breather. Qura says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Despite being in the dominant position, Trever Bernard just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Qura fails in his attempt to clinch.

Bernard has his takedown stuffed

and Qura decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bernard's guard.

Bernard pulls Qura in close to prevent any damage.
Qura postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bernard bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Qura's guard.
Qura tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Yacoub Qura will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Qura throws a hook to the side of Bernard's head but Bernard sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bernard lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Qura can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bernard controls the pace.
Qura avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bernard seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Bernard wants to control from the top but Qura keeps moving.
Qura wants to stand and escape but Bernard is having none of it.

Bernard passes Qura's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bernard is breathing heavily.

Qura pushes Bernard off looking to stand but Bernard dives back in and keeps control.
Still in half guard, Bernard seems content to control.
Qura wants to get back to his feet.

Bernard seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Qura does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Qura's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Qura duly obliges.

and Bernard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bernard slips under a jab from Qura.
Bernard throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bernard fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Qura.
A nice inside leg kick there by Qura. That's going to slow Bernard down.
Bernard misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bernard avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Bernard counters with a single leg into guard. Qura didn't expect that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Qura is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trever Bernard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Bernard fails to land the takedown.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bernard. That's going to slow Qura down.
Bernard lands a nice leg kick that just misses Qura's sensitive parts.
Qura looks to land a combination but Bernard avoids it well.
Bernard slips a jab and a cross from Qura.
Bernard lands a head kick. Qura smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Qura has his takedown stuffed
and Bernard counters with a thumping low kick.

and Bernard counters with a shoot takedown. Qura fights it but they end up in guard.
Bernard slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Bernard gets to his feet. Qura looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Qura bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bernard is rocked!

Qura stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Bernard is still on wobbly legs! Can Qura finish him?
Qura dances in with a quick combination. Bernard is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Qura snaps Bernard's head back. Bernard stumbles backwards against the cage. Qura steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Bernard's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Bernard just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Yacoub Qura!
