The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

davis closes the distance and clinches.

Buil escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sidney Buil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now davis is on top in guard.

Buil has hold of davis's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and davis manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Poor strikes thrown by Buil there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Buil here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Buil ducks down and throws a hook to the body but davis moves away.

Buil fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. davis looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and davis counters with a good low kick that Buil was not able to check.
Buil throws out a loose jab but davis uses good head movement to avoid it.

davis throws a leg kick which misses Buil's front leg but catches the back leg as Buil tries to avoid it.

davis works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
davis fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Buil looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

davis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
davis passes the guard and advances to mount!

davis is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Buil has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Buil!

Buil drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but davis manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Buil has davis in his guard.

Buil is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by davis.

davis is sitting in close to Buil's body. Buil has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! davis is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, davis is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Buil.
