Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Hurley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shika Kriston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hurley comes to the cage accompanied by Free Bird. Kriston has chosen All I Do is Win as his entrance music. Shika Kriston is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Hurley.

An elbow from Hurley crashes against the mat.
Hurley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hurley fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Kriston tries to escape but Hurley has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Kriston is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Kriston wants to control his opponent's hands but Hurley gets his hands free.
Kriston is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hurley lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Hurley.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Hurley is trying to stick to Kriston's back but Kriston is turning into Hurley. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Hurley's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kriston.
Hurley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hurley seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Kriston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hurley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hurley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Hurley gets to his feet. Kriston looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kriston tries for a takedown but Hurley circles away easily
enabling Hurley to counter with a crisp jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Hurley closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kriston to the mat! Kriston manages to get full guard.
Hurley makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hurley stands up and waves to Kriston to follow him.
Kriston swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hurley fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kriston, pushing him back against the cage.
Hurley manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Kriston throws a strike but Hurley rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Hurley gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Hurley pushes Kriston off and scrambles back to his feet.

and Hurley counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hurley.
Kriston is breathing heavily.
Hurley controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hurley decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Hurley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kriston's guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kriston has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hurley has passed into side control.
Hurley creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Hurley decides to stand back up.
Hurley pushes Kriston up against the cage in a clinch.
Hurley gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kriston.
Bryan Hurley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shika Kriston.
Hurley manages to pull guard.
Hurley manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Hurley has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kriston's face.

Hurley is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kriston to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kriston shrugs it off.

Hurley is working for a rear naked choke. Kriston is not defending it well and Hurley has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Kriston refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Kriston's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
