The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Echizen doesn't manage to clinch there - Cassidy circles away.

Echizen shoots in and bounces Cassidy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Cassidy pulls Echizen in to control the position.
Echizen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cassidy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Echizenis looking to pass into half guard but Cassidy pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Cassidy is in guard.
Echizen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Echizen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cassidy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Cassidy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Echizen, who protects the arm well.

Cassidy is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Echizen is trying to escape and Cassidy transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Echizen is forced to tap! Nice work there by Cassidy! Very nice indeed!
