The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nihilist blocks a head kick by Steele.
Nihilist misses with a takedown attempt - Steele sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Nihilist looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Steele tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Nihilist paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Nihilist feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nihilist postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Steele is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nihilist, into his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Steele moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Steele tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Steele swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A solid leg kick lands there for Nihilist.
Steele misses with a few strikes there.
A jab from Nihilist finds it's way through Steele's defenses.

Nihilist fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Nihilist jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Steele is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Steele and Nihilist has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
