Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Orton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orton's entrance music is What the World Needs Is a Few More Rednecks by Charlie Daniels. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Orton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Batista!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batista throws a shot to the body.
Batista displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Orton throws out the jab.

Batista closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Batista lands in his opponent's guard.
Orton is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Batista cracks Orton with a solid left hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Batista closes the distance and pushes Orton back into the cage.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Batista creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Batista drops down looking for an ankle pick but Orton pulls his leg out and moves away.

Batista cracks Orton with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Orton looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Batista finish him?


It looks like Jason Orton has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Batista shoots in for a takedown and gets it, with a heavy slam. That will score well with the judges.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Batista thows a big elbow that misses.
Batista in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Batista trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Batista working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Orton's head.
Batista must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Batista is working Orton over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Batista stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Some wild striking there from Batista.
Batista scores with a hook to the body. Orton takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Orton misses with a double jab

so Batista counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Batista tries to free his leg and advance position but Orton is retaining full guard.
Orton has momentary wrist control but Batista slips an elbow through the middle.

Orton manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Batista drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Batista tries to stand but Orton is controlling his head.
Batista is trying to ground and pound but Orton uses the momentary lack of control by Batista to regain half guard.
Batista sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Orton defending well though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Batista trying to control from Orton's half guard. Orton has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Batista stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Orton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Batista dominated that round.

Batista lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Orton misses with a looping right.
Orton tries to move into range but Batista moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Batista misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Batista throws a series of punches but Orton avoids them all with ease.
Jason Orton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Batista steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Orton is out on his feet! Batista sets himself and nearly takes Orton's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Dave Batista!
