Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darren Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, CoCo Ware!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a front kick aimed at Ware's knee but Ware avoids it well.
Ware scores with a three punch combo!
Smith throws a leg kick which misses Ware's front leg but catches the back leg as Ware tries to avoid it.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Ware shows good takedown defense.
Some wild striking there from Ware.
Ware sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Smith tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ware is able to avoid easily.
Smith throws a push kick but Ware slaps the foot to one side.
Smith lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like CoCo Ware has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ware misses with a two punch combination.
Ware throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease.
Smith looks to land a body kick but Ware moved away.
Ware checks a low kick from Smith.
Ware throws a series of punches but Smith moves out of range.

Smith throws a half hearted mid kick.
Smith throws the kick towards the body but Ware avoids it.
Ware misses with a few strikes there.
Ware stalks Smith and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Smith's face. Smith staggers backwards, shaken.
Ware throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith.
Ware misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smith fails with a takedown attempt.
Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Smith. Ware shrugs it off though.

Ware takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ware napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ware has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Smith but great work by Ware.

Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith tries to hold on but Ware pushes him away.

Ware has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Smith.

Ware slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Smith throws a low kick but it's checked well by Ware.

Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ware as he avoids it easily.
Ware will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Some bone on bone action there as Smith checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
CoCo Ware is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Smith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ware was covering up waiting for the punch and Smith finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Smith is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ware is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Smith goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ware is on top in guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
