Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Safo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Safo comes to the cage accompanied by Black Star - Sway. Davis has chosen Rancid-Last one to Die as his entrance music. Davis has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Derek Safo could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Nate Davis's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Derek Safo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nate Davis!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Safo sprawls well. Safo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Davis gets slowly back to his feet.
Davis looks gassed!
Safo tries to bum rush Davis with a series of wild strikes but Davis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Davis doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Safo drops Davis with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Davis looks back up at him and smiles so Safo waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Davis is rocked!
It looks like Nate Davis has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Safo is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Davis flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Davis is out cold! Safo holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Derek Safo!
