PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins has chosen Hungry Like The Wolf as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jim Jenkins was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Jenkins.
Jones throws a front kick aimed at Jenkins's knee but Jenkins avoids it well.
Jenkins lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Jones tests Jenkins's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jones darts in and out, connecting with a jab.


It looks like Jim Jenkins has been cut.
Jones throws out a leg kick but Jenkins moves out of range and Jones only half commits.
Jenkins fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jones on the side of the head.
Jenkins needs to keep his hands up - Jones had a free shot at his head there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jenkins tests Jones's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jones lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jenkins has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jenkins and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jenkins sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Jenkins shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jenkins was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Jenkins lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.


It looks like Kevin Jones has been cut.

Jenkins with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Jenkins punching from mount but Jones doing a good job of avoiding damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones is trying to escape the mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jenkins can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jones is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones working to try and regain half guard.
Jenkins throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Jones because Jenkins loaded up on that one.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jones is in all sorts of trouble here.
Jenkins looking to finish with strikes here!
Jones keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jenkins cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jenkins landing strikes from the mount and Jones is in trouble!
Jenkins takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Jones is squirming around, avoiding Jenkins's attempts to control the action.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones wants to control but Jenkins is having none of it.
Jenkins looking to control but Jones is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Jenkins has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jones's face.


Kevin Jones's cut is getting worse.

Jenkins goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jones turns into him and now he's in Jenkins's guard.
Jenkins controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones won't allow Jenkins to sweep him here.

Jenkins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jones is looking to stand up but Jenkins won't let him.
Jenkins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jones wants to stand but Jenkins has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jenkins pulls Jones in close to prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Jenkins dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Back to the action!


Jenkins bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jones fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jenkins on the side of the head.
Jenkins closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.
Jenkins thuds his shin into the meat of Jones's side.
Jones tries a low kick but Jenkins avoids it.
Jenkins misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jones swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kevin Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jenkins checks a low kick from Jones.
Jones takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jenkins lands a body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jenkins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
Jenkins scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.


Kevin Jones's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Jones doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Jenkins bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jones's head backwards.
Jenkins misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jenkins showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.

Jenkins closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jenkins landing strikes.
Jones is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jenkins connects with a decent elbow.
Jenkins wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy.
Jenkins working the ground and pound but Jones is defending the strikes.
Jenkins cracks Jones with a big elbow.
Jenkins works to advance to full mount. Jones defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Jenkins is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jones can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee warns Jones that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Jenkins lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Jenkins unloading with bombs!
Jim Jenkins has got the better of the ground game so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jenkins goes for an armbar but Jones turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Jones.
Jones controlling from the top position.
Jenkins tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jenkins throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jenkins looking to control.

Jenkins has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jones should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Jenkins has tightened it up now! Jones should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
