The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tavarez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Newman stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Newman misses with a right hand
and Tavarez counters with an inside leg kick.
Newman throws a lazy uppercut
and Tavarez counters with a good low kick that Newman was not able to check.
Newman walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looks like Ali Newman has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Newman gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Newman is breathing heavily.
Newman lands with a nice combination. Tavarez backs away looking to recover.
Tavarez connects with a nice looking jab.
Newman walks into a jab.
Newman misses with a lunging right hand
and Tavarez counters with a right hand to the body.
Tavarez circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Newman to the canvas! Newman doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Tavarez keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
