The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cook blocks a head kick by Shott.

Cook shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Cook lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Shott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cook swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Shott moves into the clinch successfully.
Cook has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shott avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Shott is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Cook is keeping busy.
Shott wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Cook prevents the takedown attempt.
Cook tries for a takedown but Shott manages to get underhooks.

Cook tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Cook has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Christian Shott has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Cook seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Shott for as long as he can get away with.
