Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Garelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nova Uniao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garelli comes into the arena with Patriarch on a Vespa blaring out of the sound system. Joe Garelli has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uniao waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Garelli.
Garelli thows a body kick. Uniao tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Garelli leaves Uniao with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Garelli tries to close the distance and clinch up but Uniao swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Garelli takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Garelli moves in looking to clinch but Uniao pushes him off.
Nova Uniao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garelli fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Uniao manages to avoid it.
Uniao misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Garelli.
Garelli uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Uniao.

Uniao bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Uniao looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Garelli with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Uniao thows a huge punch but Garelli dodges it nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Uniao thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Garelli to regain full guard.
Uniao postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Uniao looking to sit in guard and control but Garelli gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Garelli is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Uniao is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Garelli defends well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Uniao is on top in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Uniao accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Uniao is stalling here. Garelli is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Uniao seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Garelli has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
