Carwin has chosen Where da hood at! as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carwin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Carwin scores with the left hand. Megaphny knows he should have avoided that one.

Megaphny on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Megaphny is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Carwin.

Carwin fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Megaphny slips a straight right by Carwin.
Carwin moves out of range of the strikes.
Carwin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kirk Megaphny. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Megaphny throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Megaphny. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

and Carwin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carwin jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Megaphny doesn't manage to clinch there - Carwin circles away.
Carwin lands with a hook. Megaphny tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Carwin dances in with a quick combination. Megaphny is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Carwin snaps Megaphny's head back. Megaphny stumbles backwards against the cage. Carwin steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Megaphny's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Megaphny just didn't come prepared.
