Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jim Taker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Jaeger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jim Taker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Taker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Jaeger!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taker looks for the body kick but Jaeger saw that one coming.
Jaeger misses with a head kick.
Taker misses with an attempted mid kick.
Taker pushes Jaeger away with a front kick.
Taker takes a swing at Jaeger's ribcage but misses.
Jaeger lands a head kick!
Jaeger showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Taker.
Taker misses with a body kick.
Jim Taker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taker with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Taker throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Taker throws a right hand that Jaeger ducks under and follows up with a left that Jaeger also avoids with ease.

Jaeger decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Taker tries to roll over but Jaeger keeps him under control.
Jaeger thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Jaeger has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Taker gets back to full guard.

Taker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jaeger gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A head kick from Jaeger lands but Taker takes it in his stride.

Taker tries to keep at a distance but Jaeger has taken the fight into the clinch.

Taker throws a right hand that Jaeger ducks under and follows up with a left that Jaeger also avoids with ease.
Taker throws a hook to the side of Jaeger's head but Jaeger sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Taker misses with a hook. Jaeger ducked under it nicely.
Jaeger misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

It looks like Jim Taker has been cut.

Jaeger avoids a kick to the body.
Taker misses with a low kick as Jaeger jumps back.
Jaeger throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Taker.

Jaeger darts in and clinches Taker up against the cage.
Taker swings wildly with an uppercut but Jaeger uses good head movement to avoid it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Taker wants to get back to striking at distance but Jaeger won't allow it.
Taker lands with a short shot to the head.

Jaeger gets control of Taker's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jaeger will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Taker trying to control the position from guard on top but Jaeger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jaeger lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Taker!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jaeger jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Taker is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Taker and Jaeger has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Taker is looking to regain half guard here but Jaeger keeps moving and retains side control.

Taker tries to bum rush Jaeger with a series of wild strikes but Jaeger uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jaeger shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Taker is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Taker is refusing to be controlled, as Jaeger sits in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Taker is looking to improve his position.
Jaeger thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Jaeger counters with a good low kick that Taker was not able to check.

Taker takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jaeger throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Jaeger closes the distance and clinches.

Jaeger pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jaeger tries to bum rush Taker with a series of wild strikes but Taker uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jaeger bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Jaeger holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Taker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jaeger's guard.
Jaeger is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Taker is controlling him.
Jaeger manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Taker manages to get himself to full guard.

Travis Jaeger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Taker tries to work over Jaeger's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Taker wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Jaeger is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Taker is trying to break the clinch but Jaeger has him pressed against the cage.

Taker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jaeger throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Travis Jaeger seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Taker shoots in for a double leg but Jaeger sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jaeger lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Jaeger.

Jaeger darts in and clinches Taker up against the cage.
Jaeger throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Taker blocks it with crossed arms.
Taker looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Taker. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jaeger has picked Taker up - he's going for a ride! Jaeger dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Taker is looking to improve his position but Jaeger isn't that keen on the idea.
