Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Escarino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escarino comes to the cage accompanied by RATM-- Guerrilla Radio. Hernandez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Welcome to my Nightmare kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hernandez on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Escarino looks to land a left hand but Hernandez moved out of range nicely.
Escarino darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Hernandez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Escarino is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Escarino is trying to control Hernandez's posture but Hernandez avoids it.

Hernandez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Escarino is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Escarino on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Escarino tries to get out of the position.

Hernandez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Escarino keeps working.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hernandez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hernandez is fighting to break Escarino's control of his arms but Escarino is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Escarino is working an open guard so Hernandez takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Hernandez misses with a head kick.
Escarino takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Escarino swats away the attempt to clinch by Hernandez.
Hector Hernandez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Escarino wants to land a leg kick but Hernandez is out of range.

Hernandez pushes Escarino up against the cage in a clinch.

Escarino pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hernandez connects with a solid leg kick.
Hernandez tries to clinch up but Escarino circles away and keeps his distance.
Escarino misses with a two punch combination.
Hernandez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hernandez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hernandez shoots in looking for a takedown. Escarino tries to sprawl out of it but Hernandez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Escarino manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hernandez avoids the body shot from Escarino.
Hernandez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Escarino pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Escarino sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hernandez lands a high kick!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Escarino blocks the body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hector Hernandez dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hernandez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Escarino but Escarino pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Escarino throws a series of punches but Hernandez avoids them all with ease.
Escarino tries to close the distance and clinch but Hernandez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hector Hernandez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Escarino circles away from the clinch attempt
and Hernandez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hernandez wants to clinch up but Escarino keeps it at a distance.

and Escarino counters with a good low kick that Hernandez was not able to check.
