The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Werdum jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… porterboy is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by porterboy and Werdum has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

porterboy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Werdum throws out the jab.
Werdum does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Werdum closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
porterboy wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Werdum has hold of porterboy's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! porterboy tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Werdum cranks the arm and porterboy screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from porterboy, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
