Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peewee Herman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Veneracion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Herman comes into the arena with Tequila blaring out of the sound system. Veneracion has chosen faint as his entrance music. Peewee Herman had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herman scores with a jab to the body.
Herman tries a head kick but it misses.
Herman ducks under a wild hook from Veneracion.
Herman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Veneracion shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Veneracion showed some decent athleticism there.

Veneracion is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Veneracion changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Herman tries to avoid it but Veneracion manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Herman to the ground. Herman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Veneracion looks to land a strike but Herman avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Herman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Veneracion is controlling him.

Veneracion drops back, looking for a kneebar! Herman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Herman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Herman!
Veneracion is trying to work for a sweep but Herman has mounted him!
Veneracion is working to get back to half guard.
Herman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Veneracion on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Herman wants to get back to his feet but Veneracion is holding on tight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Veneracion is desperately trying to improve his position but Herman has a good base and remains in mount.

Veneracion rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Herman decides to return to a standing position.
Peewee Herman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Herman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Veneracion shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Herman sprawls well. Herman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Veneracion gets slowly back to his feet.

and Herman counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Herman slaps away a takedown attempt from Veneracion, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Herman counters with a thumping low kick.
Horrible takedown by Veneracion or perhaps it was just good defense by Herman which made him look bad.
Veneracion shoots in looking for a takedown. Herman tries to sprawl out of it but Veneracion keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Herman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Herman cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Veneracion shoots for a takedown but Herman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Veneracion moves out of range as Herman strikes.

Herman ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Veneracion decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Veneracion looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Veneracion thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Herman to regain full guard.
Herman wants to stand but Veneracion is controlling the position.

Veneracion drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Herman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Veneracion has Herman in his guard.

Herman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Herman uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Veneracion has time to react.

Herman lands a lovely overhand right.
Herman clobbers Veneracion with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Veneracion feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Veneracion has gone for a leg lock! Herman slips out almost immediately though and dives into Veneracion's guard.

Herman gets to his feet - Veneracion follows without any prompting.
