Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Wesley Sneijder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sneijder's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Pregador Luo - Bate Pesadão. Edgar is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rick Ross- The Boss. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wesley Sneijder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anderson Edgar!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sneijder, as that shot connected.
Sneijder tries to clinch but Edgar is having none of it.
Edgar slips a jab and a cross from Sneijder.
Edgar throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Sneijder gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Edgar counters by clinching up.
Sneijder wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Edgar tries for a takedown. No joy.
Edgar tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Sneijder is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Edgar decides to pull guard.

Edgar has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sneijder is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Edgar.

Sneijder tries to stand but Edgar is controlling his head.
Edgar manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sneijder is in trouble now - Edgar has advanced to mount!
Sneijder wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Edgar.
Sneijder really wants to buck Edgar off and get back to his feet.
Edgar punching from mount but Sneijder doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Edgar goes for an armbar but Sneijder turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sneijder.

Edgar is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sneijder wants to stand but Edgar is controlling his posture from full guard.

Sneijder got a little sloppy there for a moment and Edgar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sneijder has managed to get both his arms back between Edgar's legs - danger averted.

Edgar has his foot on Sneijder's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sneijder works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sneijder wants to stand but Edgar is controlling his posture from full guard.

Edgar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Sneijder wanted to stand there but Edgar had control of the position.
Edgar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Edgar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sneijder doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sneijder manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Edgar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sneijder defends it easily.
Sneijder wanted to stand there but Edgar had control of the position.

Edgar has his foot on Sneijder's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sneijder works his way back into a safe position though.

Sneijder stands up from Edgar's guard - Sneijder perhaps looking for a knockout.
Sneijder throws a series of strikes that have Edgar backpedaling.
Sneijder on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

and Edgar holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Edgar fails to pull guard.
Wesley Sneijder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Edgar.

Sneijder wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sneijder dodges an elbow strike from Edgar.
Edgar drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sneijder pulls his leg out and moves away.
Edgar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sneijder throws a wild body kick that Edgar sees coming a mile off.
Edgar tries to clinch but Sneijder moves out of range.

and Edgar counters with a shoot takedown. Sneijder fights it but they end up in guard.
Edgar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sneijder swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Edgar stops Sneijder from standing up.

Sneijder can't keep his opponent in guard - Edgar advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Edgar prevents Sneijder from standing back up.
Edgar wants to pass the guard but Sneijder is defending well.

Edgar is trying to work for a kimura but Sneijder is defending well.
Sneijder looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Edgar is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sneijder!

Edgar swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Sneijder is now in Edgar's guard. A big mistake from Edgar there, giving up the dominant position!

Edgar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sneijder gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Edgar has a closed guard, preventing Sneijder from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Sneijder will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Edgar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sneijder pinned against the cage. Sneijder gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Edgar throws a head kick that half lands.
Edgar avoids a punch combination nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Edgar takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Sneijder throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Edgar counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sneijder won't be happy with that.
Sneijder is trying to buck Edgar off.

Edgar tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Edgar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sneijder keeps working.

Edgar has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Edgar jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sneijder is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sneijder and Edgar has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Sneijder lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Sneijder scores with a hook to the body. Edgar takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Sneijder throws a right and a left that Edgar avoids nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Anderson Edgar.
I think Edgar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
