The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bantrell gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cazares to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Cazares stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bantrell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bantrell holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cazares accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cazares wants to pass the guard but Bantrell is keeping the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bantrell slaps away a takedown attempt from Cazares, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Bantrell. No joy for Cazares on that attempt.

Cazares ducks right into an uppercut from Bantrell.

It looks like Dino Cazares has been cut.

Bantrell drives through and clinches with Cazares against the cage.

Cazares drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bantrell gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Bantrell drops Cazares with a big knee straight up the middle! Cazares is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

A slapping body kick lands there for Bantrell.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cazares on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Bantrell. Bantrell obviously looking to wear him down.
Bantrell drops Cazares with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Cazares! Bantrell dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
