Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leather Slammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rand James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rand James is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

James closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

James seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

James seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Slammer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Slammer misses with a takedown attempt
and James counters with a good, hard body kick but Slammer shrugs it off.
A nice leg kick lands there from James.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Slammer takes a shot to the body in his stride.

James rushes Slammer and presses him up against the cage.
James tries to score a body lock takedown but Slammer shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
James is trying to drag Slammer to the mat but Slammer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

James successfully pulls guard.
James is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Still in half guard, James seems content to control.
James is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Slammer!

James wants to control the pace but Slammer is squirming around nicely.

James moves to back control.

Slammer controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Rand James has got the better of the ground game so far.

James working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Slammer is doing well to defend. James seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Slammer is forced to tap and this one is over!
