Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roy van Persi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sly Bandit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). van Persi comes to the cage accompanied by Wolfsheim. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
van Persi closes the distance and clinches.
van Persi tries to pull guard but Bandit won't allow it.
van Persi stalling in the clinch.
van Persi is leaning against Bandit and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
van Persi's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
A bit of stalling here from Bandit.
Bandit misses with some punches.
van Persi works on Bandit's body with a couple of short punches.
van Persi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bandit walks away with a smile on his face. van Persi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Bandit misses with a hook. van Persi ducked under it nicely.
Bandit tries to clinch up but van Persi circles away and keeps his distance.
Bandit takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Bandit throws a hook but van Persi blocks it.

van Persi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

van Persi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bandit really doesn't want to stay on the ground with van Persi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bandit is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bandit wants to sweep here but van Persi controlling him for the moment.

Bandit tries to kick van Persi off but van Persi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Bandit scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but van Persi manages to mount him!

van Persi lands a big shot there that rocks Bandit but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
van Persi avoids the attempt from Bandit to control.
Bandit is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

van Persi lands a big shot to the head and Bandit winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
