PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Andre Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivanildo Andrade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Stab. Ivanildo Andrade will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andrade sizes up Silva with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Andrade is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Andrade circles away and we're back to standing.

Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Andrade, pushing him back against the cage.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Andrade just misses with a elbow thrown towards Silva's brow.
Silva is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Andrade pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Andrade fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Silva looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Silva shoots in for a double leg but Andrade sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Silva takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Silva takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

It looks like Andre Silva has been cut.
Andrade throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Silva stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Silva takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Silva takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Andrade cracks a nice hook into Silva's ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva wants to control from the top but Andrade keeps moving.

Andrade wants to stand but Silva is controlling the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Andrade fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Silva takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but Andrade manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Andrade lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Andrade is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Silva takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Ivanildo Andrade is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Andrade walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Silva checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Andrade is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Silva rather than just go for the knockout.
Silva takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Silva is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Andrade pinned against the cage. Andrade gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Andrade lands a nice looking kick to the body. Silva takes a step back to recover.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Andrade catches Silva with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Andrade ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Andrade throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Silva on the side of the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Andrade connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Silva! He's out on his feet! Andrade rushes in and drops Silva with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
