The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coutinho escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Redentor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Coutinho isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Redentor stacks Coutinho on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Redentor!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Cristo Redentor will probably get the nod.

Redentor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Redentor shoots for a double leg takedown but Coutinho sprawls well. He's pushed Redentor's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A jab-cross combination lands for Redentor and sends Coutinho crashing to the mat! Redentor follows him down to the mat - Coutinho regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Coutinho has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Redentor. Oh but Coutinho has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Redentor goes limp - he's gone! Coutinho jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
