PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brondan Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tito Loko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Vera might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bebot. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loko shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vera sprawls well. Vera wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Loko gets slowly back to his feet.
Vera throws a head kick that half lands.

Vera closes the distance and clinches.
Loko is working for takedown but Vera is calmly controlling the position for now.
Loko tries for a takedown but Vera manages to get underhooks.
Brondan Vera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tito Loko.
Vera prevents a takedown attempt there.
Loko wants to stall.

Vera breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Loko fails with a takedown attempt.

Vera darts in and clinches Loko up against the cage.
Loko tries for a takedown but Vera manages to get underhooks.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Vera escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Loko looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vera is fending him off so far but Loko persists. Nope, Vera circles away and we're back to standing.
Loko takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Loko is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vera sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Vera gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Vera breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Vera tries to bum rush Loko with a series of wild strikes but Loko uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Vera throws the kick towards the body but Loko avoids it.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Loko fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Loko shoots in looking for a takedown. Vera tries to sprawl out of it but Loko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vera manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Loko looks gassed!
Vera tries a head kick but it misses.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vera is looking to land body kicks.
Loko fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vera avoids it really well and circles away.
Loko looks to clinch

and Vera counters with a shoot takedown. Loko fights it but they end up in guard.

Loko pushes a forearm under Vera's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Vera is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
