The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rinkski tries for a takedown but Van Dammed sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown by Rinkski or perhaps it was just good defense by Van Dammed which made him look bad.
Van Dammed goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Van Dammed dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rinkski. That did some damage!
Van Dammed tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rinkski swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rinkski will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff Rinkski. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rinkski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rinkski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Van Dammed lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rinkski's sensitive parts.
Rinkski throws a right and a left that Van Dammed avoids nicely.
Van Dammed drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Van Dammed has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Rinkski is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Van Dammed yanks on the arm and Rinkski is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Van Dammed.
