Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Delson Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ribeiro has chosen Racionais MC's - Expresso da Meia-Noite as his entrance music. Andy Booth is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andy Booth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Delson Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Booth throws a hook but Ribeiro avoids it easily.
Booth swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ribeiro.

Ribeiro scores with a takedown into Booth's guard.
Ribeiro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Booth wants to get back to his feet but Ribeiro is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Booth keeping moving, preventing Ribeiro from controlling successfully.
Ribeiro trying to move into half guard but instead Booth has managed to sweep!

Ribeiro looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Ribeiro throws his legs up looking for a submission but Booth uses it to pass to side control.
Ribeiro is looking to reverse the position.

Booth decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ribeiro to his feet.
Andy Booth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ribeiro fails with a takedown attempt.
Booth misses with an uppercut. Ribeiro saw that one coming.
Ribeiro slips a jab and a cross from Booth.
Andy Booth is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ribeiro bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Booth gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ribeiro drops back looking for a leg! Booth is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Booth manages to kick Ribeiro off! Ribeiro jumps back into Booth's guard.

Ribeiro won't allow Booth to get back to his feet.
Ribeiro thows a big elbow that misses.
Ribeiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Booth swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Booth wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ribeiro manages to pass to side control.
Ribeiro throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Booth blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ribeiro.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Ribeiro shoots in and bounces Booth off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ribeiro trying to control but Booth is working from the bottom.
Ribeiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Booth swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ribeiro looking to sit in guard and control but Booth gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Booth got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ribeiro has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Booth has managed to get both his arms back between Ribeiro's legs - danger averted.
Ribeiro wants to control the position but Booth says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Ribeiro has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Booth is working away from the top position though.
Booth tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ribeiro controls his leg.
Ribeiro slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Booth will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ribeiro is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Delson Ribeiro will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Booth keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ribeiro dives in and grabs Booth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Booth pushes down on Ribeiro's head and hops out.
Booth paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Booth misses with an uppercut.
Booth misses with the combination.
Booth rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ribeiro moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Booth looks to throw the jab but Ribeiro is out of range.
Booth throws a big shot that misses.
Booth throws a right and a left that both miss.

Ribeiro feints and as Booth raises his hands in defense, Ribeiro changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ribeiro has gone for a leg lock! Booth slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ribeiro's guard.
Ribeiro is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Ribeiro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Booth can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ribeiro is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Ribeiro is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Booth defends well.

Booth has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Booth bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Booth sprawls well. Booth wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ribeiro gets slowly back to his feet.
Andy Booth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Delson Ribeiro.
Booth's corner calls for a 1-2. Booth obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Booth lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Booth misses with a two punch combination.
Booth is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ribeiro.

Ribeiro ducks under a wild hook from Booth.

Ribeiro wants to control the pace but Booth is squirming around nicely.

Ribeiro has hold of Booth's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Booth manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ribeiro working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Booth slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Ribeiro tries for a takedown but Booth sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Booth misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Booth misses with an uppercut. Ribeiro saw that one coming.
Ribeiro displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Booth throws out the jab.
Booth is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Ribeiro closes this distance looking for a takedown but Booth circles away.

Ribeiro drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ribeiro's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Ribeiro thows a big elbow that misses.
Booth wants to stand and escape but Ribeiro is having none of it.

Booth is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Ribeiro decides to pull guard.
Ribeiro will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Ribeiro is trying to drag Booth to the mat but Booth just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Booth has had enough of the clinch but Ribeiro keeps him there for the moment.
Ribeiro tries to pull guard but Booth holds him up against the cage and eventually Ribeiro drops back down to his feet.
