Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alez Calypse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Landon Ricketts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calypse's entrance music is Prodigy - Spitfire. A fine choice. Landon Ricketts will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Calypse shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ricketts's guard.
Calypse throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Calypse wants to pass the guard but Ricketts is keeping the position.
Calypse working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Calypse might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Calypse postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ricketts is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Calypse, into his guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Calypse is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Ricketts frees his head nicely. Oh but Calypse has switched to an armbar! Ricketts is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
