PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peyton Pyatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Mark Brown has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mark Brown seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Peyton Pyatt!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pyatt looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Pyatt looks to score with a jab to the body but Brown is just out of range.
Brown tries to bum rush Pyatt with a series of wild strikes but Pyatt uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pyatt misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pyatt swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice takedown defense from Pyatt. No joy for Brown on that attempt.
A slow jab from Pyatt misses its intended target.
Pyatt uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Brown.
Pyatt lands a body shot.
Pyatt falls off balance throwing a combination
and Brown counters with a two punch combo.
Pyatt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Brown throws a right and a left that Pyatt avoids nicely.
Pyatt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Brown.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown walks into a straight right hand from Pyatt.
Pyatt lands a lovely overhand right.
Brown shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pyatt is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pyatt pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Brown lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Peyton Pyatt has been cut.
Nice defenses there by Brown.
Brown ducks under a wild hook from Pyatt.
Nice uppercut lands for Pyatt. That snapped Brown's head back.
Pyatt loads up on a big right hand but Brown slips the punch.
Brown staying out of range there.

and Pyatt counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Brown counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pyatt's guard now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brown trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pyatt has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pyatt working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Brown.
Brown has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Brown working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Brown trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pyatt can do anything to dispel that myth.

Brown gets to his feet. Pyatt looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Pyatt is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Brown falls off balance throwing a combination
and Pyatt counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pyatt throws a right hand that Brown ducks under and follows up with a left that Brown also avoids with ease.
Pyatt misses with a combination
enabling Brown to counter with a crisp jab.
Brown moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Pyatt swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Brown counters with a body kick.

Brown looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Pyatt looks gassed!
Pyatt can't keep his opponent in guard - Brown advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pyatt is trying to control but Brown manages to pass to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Brown dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Peyton Pyatt's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!



Brown drops Pyatt with a left right combo! Brown follows him down to the ground into side control.


Pyatt is rocked!
Brown in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Pyatt looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Brown turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Brown!
