The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Taylor shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches AK napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Taylor thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Taylor wants to control but AK is keeping him busy.
AK manages to work his way to half guard, despite Taylor's best efforts.

AK looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Taylor throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

AK makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
AK tries a head kick but it misses.
AK swinging wildly here.
AK connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

AK swats away the attempt to clinch by Taylor.
The fight stays on the outside here - Taylor looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Taylor looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? AK is fending him off so far but Taylor persists. Nope, AK circles away and we're back to standing.

AK darts in and clinches Taylor up against the cage.
AK scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Taylor stops a takedown attempt from AK.

Taylor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

AK looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Taylor!
Taylor is breathing heavily.

AK is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Taylor to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Taylor shrugs it off.
AK trying to control but Taylor is having none of it.

AK looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

AK is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Taylor is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Taylor flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. AK anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Taylor and secures both hooks! This could be bad! AK slips an arm under Taylor chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. AK has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. AK is squeezing on Taylor like an anaconda would it's prey. Taylor fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sergei AK!
