The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rushman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gracie avoids it really well and circles away.

Rushman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rushman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gracie goes for a takedown attempt but Rushman pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rushman moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Rushman has taken the fight to the clinch.
Rushman throws a head punch that misses.
Rushman can't get the takedown.
Gracie controlling the action here for a moment.
Rushman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Gracie just stands there and leans against the cage.
Royce Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Rushman.
Rushman tries to pull guard but Gracie holds him up against the cage and eventually Rushman drops back down to his feet.
Rushman tries to score a body lock takedown but Gracie shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Rushman fails to pull guard.

Gracie manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Rushman stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Gracie throws up his legs and catches Rushman in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Rushman tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Gracie! That came out of nowhere!
