PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Mordant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takumi Mayama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mayama has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Mayama.
Mayama looks gassed!
Mordant fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mordant goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mordant lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mayama has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mayama and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Mordant wants to control from the top but Mayama keeps moving.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Mordant has hold of Mayama's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mayama manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Mordant can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mayama is looking to escape.

Mordant is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mayama can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Mordant is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mayama to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mayama shrugs it off.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mordant has control of Mayama's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mayama regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mordant dives in and grabs Mayama's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mayama pushes down on Mordant's head and hops out.
