Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Warren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jahangir Hooshmand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank Warren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jahangir Hooshmand!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooshmand changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Warren tries to avoid it but Hooshmand manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Warren to the ground. Warren escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Warren has his takedown stuffed

and Hooshmand holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Warren decides to pull guard.

Hooshmand drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hooshmand jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hooshmand stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Warren swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Warren is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Warren is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Warren knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hooshmand on the ground.
Warren wants to sweep here but Hooshmand controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Warren closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Warren lands in his opponent's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hooshmand is on top in guard.

Warren has his foot on Hooshmand's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hooshmand works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Warren throws a right and a left that Hooshmand avoids nicely.

and Warren counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hooshmand!
Warren is breathing heavily.

Hooshmand is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Hooshmand is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Warren moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hooshmand has worked his arm free - good work by Hooshmand!

Hooshmand is staying active underneath Warren, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Warren is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hooshmand is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Warren is stalling here. Hooshmand is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Warren seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hooshmand has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hooshmand working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
You can see the frustration on Warren's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Warren is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Hooshmand is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Warren is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Frank Warren will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Hooshmand tries to keep at a distance but Warren has taken the fight into the clinch.

Warren's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Hooshmand has gone for a leg lock! Warren slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hooshmand's guard.

Hooshmand wants to sweep here but Warren controlling him for the moment.
Warren has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Warren wants to pass the guard but Hooshmand is keeping the position.
Warren trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Warren accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Hooshmand counters with a nice double leg into side control. Warren won't be happy with that.

Hooshmand is looking to escape.
Warren missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Hooshmand has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Warren is working away from the top position though.
Warren is taking a breather. Hooshmand says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Warren looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Warren seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Warren misses with a takedown attempt

so Hooshmand counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hooshmand stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Warren swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Warren is trying to control the position but Hooshmand postures up.

Hooshmand stands up and waves to Warren to follow him.

Warren closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hooshmand fails to pull guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jahangir Hooshmand showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Warren throws a head kick but Hooshmand moves out of range.
Warren looks to land a combination but Hooshmand avoids it well.
Frank Warren is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hooshmand is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Warren doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hooshmand.
