Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Norifumi Yamamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coleman has chosen Don't Tread On Me By Metallica as his entrance music. Ronnie Coleman has the eye of the tiger tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronnie Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coleman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Yamamoto chips away with some ground and pound.

Yamamoto seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Coleman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Coleman is staying active underneath Yamamoto, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Coleman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yamamoto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Coleman tries to roll over but Yamamoto keeps him under control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Yamamoto thows a huge punch but Coleman dodges it nicely.

Yamamoto takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Yamamoto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Coleman tries to avoid it but Yamamoto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Coleman to the ground. Coleman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
A nice combination there by Coleman.


It looks like Norifumi Yamamoto has been cut.

Coleman darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Coleman attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Norifumi Yamamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Coleman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yamamoto doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yamamoto manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Coleman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Coleman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Coleman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yamamoto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Coleman has managed to get both his arms back between Yamamoto's legs - danger averted.
Yamamoto is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Yamamoto is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Coleman is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Coleman wants to stand but Yamamoto has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Coleman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
