The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A big left from Murdock misses.
Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Murdock defends it nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Murdock throws out a loose jab but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it.
Murdock swats away the attempt to clinch by Smith.
Murdock leaves Smith with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Smith fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Frankie Murdock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spike Smith.
Smith on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Smith shoots in but Murdock avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Murdock misses with a two punch combination.
Murdock misses with a few strikes there.

Smith throws a left and a right that both miss
and Murdock counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Smith looks gassed!

Murdock cracks Smith with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Smith looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Murdock finish him?

Smith is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith tries to get into range but Murdock steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Smith! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Murdock scores the big KO victory!
