Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dalton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez comes to the cage accompanied by Knock a hatter out . On his way into the cage it seems that Ricardo Alvarez has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ricardo Alvarez seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dalton lands a front kick.
Dalton throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Alvarez misses with a head kick.
Dalton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Alvarez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dalton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nice takedown defense from Dalton. No joy for Alvarez on that attempt.

Dalton pushes Alvarez up against the cage in a clinch.

Alvarez turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Alvarez manages to end up in side control.
Dalton manages to get back to half guard.

Dalton pushes Alvarez off and gets back to his feet.
Dalton tries to clinch there but Alvarez circles away.
Alvarez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dalton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dalton swings for the body but Alvarez moves out of range.

and Dalton counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Alvarez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dalton on the ground.
Alvarez is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dalton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Alvarez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Dalton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dalton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Dalton has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Alvarez's face.
Alvarez tries to reverse the position but Dalton maintains control.

Dalton is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Alvarez is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Alvarez flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Dalton anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Alvarez and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Dalton slips an arm under Alvarez chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Dalton has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Dalton is squeezing on Alvarez like an anaconda would it's prey. Alvarez fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
