Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Homura Hokage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corey Pot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Homura Hokage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Corey Pot!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hokage.
Hokage closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pot circles away.
Pot tries to land a front kick but Hokage steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Homura Hokage. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hokage shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pot pinned against the cage. Pot gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hokage has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Homura Hokage has been cut.
Pot circles away from the clinch attempt.

Pot shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hokage but Hokage pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Pot shoots in looking for a takedown. Hokage tries to sprawl out of it but Pot keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hokage manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pot is looking to reverse the position.
The strikes coming from Hokage are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Pot wants to control but Hokage postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pot can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pot tries to buck Hokage off but Hokage is having none of it.
You can see the frustration on Pot's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Pot ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pot no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Hokage drops back looking for a leg! Pot is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pot manages to kick Hokage off! Hokage jumps back into Pot's guard.
Pot has control of Hokage's left arm, preventing Hokage from doing any damage.

Pot is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Hokage postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pot is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hokage, into his guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pot is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Hokage keeping moving, preventing Pot from controlling successfully.
Pot trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hokage's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Homura Hokage's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hokage fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Pot. No joy for Hokage on that attempt.
Hokage fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Pot moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Pot stops a takedown attempt from Hokage.
Pot prevents the takedown attempt.

Pot's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pot fails to land the takedown.
Hokage tries for a takedown but Pot sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Pot throws a head kick that misses.
No luck for Pot with that takedown attempt.
Homura Hokage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Pot counters by clinching up.
Pot tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hokage just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pot is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hokage gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Hokage is working for takedown but Pot is calmly controlling the position for now.

Pot looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Hokage changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Pot fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Pot shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hokage sprawls well. Hokage wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pot gets slowly back to his feet.

Hokage tries to close the distance and clinch but Pot swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Pot throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hokage's waist but Hokage gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pot off to one side.
Corey Pot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hokage keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Homura Hokage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corey Pot.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A nice right hand lands inside from Pot.
Hokage changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Pot fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hokage shoots for a double leg takedown but Pot sprawls well. He's pushed Hokage's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Homura Hokage has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hokage shoots in but no luck this time.
Pot tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hokage sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pot somewhat.

Corey Pot comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pot has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
