Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Touchin Bungholz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock has chosen Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Touchin Bungholz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Tyler Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bungholz as he avoids it easily.
Bungholz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bungholz takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Shamrock misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bungholz.

Shamrock shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bungholz napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Bungholz tries to improve position but can't.
Shamrock trying to control the position but Bungholz is working away.
Bungholz prevents Shamrock from moving into mount.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Bungholz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bungholz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Bungholz goes for an armbar but Shamrock turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Shamrock.

Bungholz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shamrock controls the pace.

Shamrock is pushing down on Bungholz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bungholz is fighting to maintain full guard but Shamrock has managed to sneak the leg through.
Shamrock wants to control but Bungholz is keeping him busy.

Bungholz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Shamrock wants to pass the guard but Bungholz is keeping the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Bungholz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Shamrock wants to control but Bungholz is having none of it.

Shamrock avoids a series of strikes thrown by Bungholz.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Bungholz is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Shamrock has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Shamrock!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Shamrock won't allow Bungholz to sweep him here.
Shamrock trying to control but Bungholz is working from the bottom.

Shamrock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bungholz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bungholz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bungholz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tyler Shamrock will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Shamrock throws a hook to the side of Bungholz's head but Bungholz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Shamrock shoots in and bounces Bungholz off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Shamrock trying to control the position from guard on top but Bungholz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shamrock won't allow Bungholz to sweep him here.
Shamrock must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bungholz has his foot on Shamrock's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shamrock works his way back into a safe position though.

Bungholz looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Shamrock has picked Bungholz up and slammed him! Bungholz can't keep hold of the triangle and Shamrock manages to pass to side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Shamrock tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bungholz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Shamrock wants to control but Bungholz is keeping him busy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bungholz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Shamrock's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Shamrock's back!
Shamrock turns into Bungholz and is now in his guard.
Shamrock wants to control from the top but Bungholz keeps moving.
Bungholz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Shamrock drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bungholz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bungholz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bungholz!

Bungholz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shamrock knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Bungholz swings around for an armbar but Shamrock sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Bungholz's guard.

Shamrock avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Shamrock slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Shamrock moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Shamrock is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bungholz knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bungholz tries to bench press Shamrock off him but Shamrock keeps the position.

Bungholz is looking to regain half guard here but Shamrock keeps moving and retains side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bungholz is not content to let Shamrock control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyler Shamrock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Shamrock lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bungholz's sensitive parts.

and Shamrock decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bungholz's guard.

Bungholz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shamrock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Shamrock wants to pass the guard but Bungholz is keeping the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bungholz keeping moving, preventing Shamrock from controlling successfully.

Bungholz looking for a sweep. Not yet Bungholz, not yet.
Shamrock trying to control but Bungholz is working from the bottom.

Bungholz looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Shamrock passes into half guard.
Shamrock is stalling here. Bungholz is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Shamrock seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bungholz has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Bungholz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bungholz working away.
Shamrock is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Shamrock sneaks back into half guard.
Bungholz passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Shamrock!
Shamrock avoids a series of strikes thrown by Bungholz.

Shamrock is looking to improve his position but Bungholz isn't that keen on the idea.
Touchin Bungholz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Bungholz is working for a guillotine from mount but Shamrock frees his head quite easily.
Shamrock tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Shamrock slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Bungholz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shamrock defends it well.
Shamrock makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Shamrock.

Bungholz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shamrock manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bungholz has Shamrock in his guard.

Shamrock is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Tyler Shamrock comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Shamrock has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
