PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arturo Caldeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abraham Lincoln (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caldeira kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is billionaire. Abraham Lincoln will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lincoln cracks Caldeira with an uppercut from hell and Caldeira crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Lincoln's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

It looks like Arturo Caldeira has been cut.

Lincoln got a little sloppy there for a moment and Caldeira has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lincoln has managed to get both his arms back between Caldeira's legs - danger averted.
Caldeira can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lincoln controls the pace.
Caldeira wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Caldeira shoots in looking for a takedown. Lincoln tries to sprawl out of it but Caldeira keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lincoln manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Caldeira looks to land a body kick but Lincoln moved away.
Lincoln works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Caldeira misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lincoln.

Caldeira fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lincoln sprawls well initially but Caldeira persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Caldeira is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Caldeira seems to be working for a kimura but Lincoln defends the submission attempt.
Lincoln keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Lincoln is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lincoln lands with a punch from half guard.
Still in half guard, Lincoln seems content to control.
Lincoln tries to pass to full mount but Caldeira defends it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lincoln throws out a powerful jab.
Lincoln misses with a looping left.
Caldeira throws a right and a left that both miss.
Caldeira slips under a jab.
Lincoln cracks Caldeira with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Arturo Caldeira is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lincoln slaps away a takedown attempt from Caldeira, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Abraham Lincoln seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Lincoln cracks Caldeira with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Caldeira tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Lincoln pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Caldeira is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
