PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Francis Ransier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson McLane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Anderson McLane was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Francis Ransier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anderson McLane!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McLane throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ransier was covering up waiting for the punch and McLane finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ransier wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
McLane lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McLane won't allow Ransier to sweep him here.

Ransier lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McLane!

Ransier looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

McLane wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McLane is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
McLane can't escape the position.

Ransier is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but McLane is surviving well by controlling Ransier's body position as best he can.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McLane can do anything to dispel that myth.
McLane is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Ransier wants to finish this one by submission but McLane is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ransier.

Ransier tries to control but McLane wriggling away.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Ransier moves in looking to clinch but McLane pushes him off.

Ransier shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Ransier is looking to advance position but McLane won't allow it.
Ransier is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

McLane is trying to stand back up but Ransier is controlling him
Ransier is trying to control. McLane wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ransier with the ground and pound but McLane uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Ransier has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McLane is proving hard to escape from.

McLane manages to escape and get back to his feet.
McLane is breathing heavily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

McLane moves into the clinch.

Ransier jumps into guard, dragging McLane to the mat.
Ransier is controlling McLane's posture.
McLane with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Ransier working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McLane doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Ransier is tightening it up a little... McLane has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! McLane reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! McLane taps out! nice BJJ there by Ransier!
