Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Matthieu Benoit!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit swats away the attempt to clinch by Comet.
Benoit misses with a looping left.
Comet uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Benoit.
Comet misses with a kick to the body.
Comet pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Benoit shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Benoit was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Benoit swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Comet is now in Benoit's guard. A big mistake from Benoit there, giving up the dominant position!

Comet gets to his feet - Benoit follows without any prompting.
Nice takedown defense from Comet. No joy for Benoit on that attempt.
Benoit staying out of range there.

Benoit shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Benoit showed some decent athleticism there.
Benoit misses with a head shot. Comet uses the momentum to regain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Benoit stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Comet swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Benoit looking to sit in guard and control but Comet gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Comet has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Benoit throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Benoit is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Comet rolls with it to try and escape but Benoit cranks on the arm and Comet is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
